Several years ago I learned Robert Bruce's energy work system, and am now working on Step II of Bardon's IIH. For those who have experience with both systems, is Bruce's energy work equivalent to Bardon's pore breathing?
In other words, if I already have a good deal of experience with Bruce's system, am I already manipulating the vital energy in such a way as satisfies the Step II requirements?

No, they are different systems. It's good to learn both.
Bruce's system involves moving energy *through* the body, Bardon's system involves moving it *into and out of* the body -- firstly the whole body, and later individual parts. In Bardon's system you do not move energy. You start in a relaxed comfortable state and you bring energy into the body and back out according to your will/imagination.
You *absolutely do not* want to miss out on the Bardon method IMO. Firstly it is wonderful in itself -- I was taught a system similarly by another teacher *in partnership* with a more movement-based system and they complement each other. Furthermore Bardon's is the best I have ever learned.
But secondly and more importantly, absolutely everything in Bardon after that depends on using his system. You can't work with elements and fluids, nor with the kabbalistic letters, unless you learn the pore breathing his way. And by step 4, his way of packing in elemental energy has become so powerful! It produces unique and beautiful harmonizing effects on the system. Without wishing to be rude, those effects are things Bruce doesn't know about IMO. You do want to experience those effects, trust me.
A final note: from the very beginning of IIH (even step 1) you use breathing to bring in *ideation*. Your breath, and later your pore breaths, are thus imbued with *meaning* strongly in a way you don't find in other systems. It takes a little patience to master but believe me it is worth it. You have ways to artistically shape your soul through your breath that are so useful and beautiful. The plainness of Bardon's writing perhaps sometimes disguises the depth of his system.
Just my opinion, hope it helps! Good luck.

Thank you so much for your clear and helpful response. I asked this question on several forums and this is by far the most helpful reply. Thanks again.

This forum is quiet which is why I stop by. There are some quite knowledgeable people also over at the Veritas Society though -- http://forums.vsociety.net/index.php if you don't know that one.
